New Consul General of Sweden in New York

Ambassador Ulf Hjertonsson has been appointed to the post of Consul General of Sweden in New York, succeeding Kjell Anneling as of March 1, 2006.

Ambassador Ulf Hjertonsson is a highly experienced and accomplished diplomat who has worked for the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs since 1965. His career in the Swedish foreign service has included a number of key appointments, both in Stockholm and abroad.

Swedish Music Showcase Introduces Five Swedish Acts to U.S.

Export Music Sweden and the Consulate General of Sweden in New York are set to present five Swedish acts in a music showcase on March 18 at the legendary CBGB's in New York City. The bands will also perform at the music festival South by Southwest in Austin, TX, on March 16 and 17.
