New Passport Application Requirements

As of September 1, 2004, all Swedish passport applications must be delivered in person by the applicant to the Embassy of Sweden or to a Swedish consulate in the U.S.

Passport applications may not be submitted by postal mail or any other delivery service. The application fee is $40 and must be paid with a money order or certified bank check. For pick-up of the new passport at a consular location other than the one at which the application was submitted, there is an additional processing fee of $10.
